At Integrity Dental our in-house dental hygiene team is dedicated to preventing gum disease and tooth decay. Beyond professional cleaning, our hygienists provide personalised advice on brushing, flossing and diet to give you all the tools you need to maintain a truly healthy mouth between appointments.
In-House Dental Hygienist Care
We recommend a professional cleaning appointment with our hygienist every 6 months. During these visits, calculus (tartar build-up that cannot be removed by brushing alone) is professionally removed from all surfaces of your teeth — including below the gum line where disease originates.
Your hygienist will also discuss your diet and its impact on your oral health, and provide personalised home care recommendations to optimise your routine.
Early Intervention
The risk of tooth decay is dramatically reduced through preventative treatment and early intervention. Catching decay in its earliest stages means minimal treatment is required — often just a small filling rather than a crown or root canal.
Regular hygiene appointments allow our team to identify early warning signs and address them before they progress into more serious — and more costly — problems.
Prevent Periodontal Disease
A significant portion of the population lives with some degree of periodontal (gum) disease — often without knowing it. Periodontal disease is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults, and research continues to link it to serious systemic conditions including heart disease, diabetes and stroke.
When left untreated, the bone surrounding and supporting your teeth can deteriorate over time, eventually leading to tooth mobility and tooth loss. Professional hygiene appointments are the single most effective way to prevent this from happening.
Maintain Your Oral Health
Combining a good home oral care routine with regular professional appointments and a balanced diet gives you the best possible chance of keeping your natural teeth healthy for life.
Your Oral Health Routine
- Brush twice daily with a soft-bristled toothbrush for 2–3 minutes.
- Floss at least once a day to clean between teeth.
- Limit sugary foods and beverages, especially between meals.
- Visit our dental hygienist every 6 months for a professional clean.
- Attend regular dental check-ups to catch problems early.
